The exact cause of autism is unknown, although evidence suggests that it is caused by a combination of developmental, genetic, and environmental factors.

Genetic factor

According to research, genetic factors are the most important. Autism's heritability, on the other hand, is complicated, and it's often unclear which genes are involved. Autism has been linked to chemicals that induce birth abnormalities in some situations. There have been other more theories presented.

Other biological factors

  • Connection problems in the brain
  • Problems with brain growth or enlargement
  • Metabolic (energy-producing) issues
  • Immune system problems, which defend the body from infection

Environmental Factor

According to research, environmental factors may also enhance – or diminish – autism chances in those who are genetically programmed to the illness. Despite extensive research, no single environmental element has been identified as a definitive cause of autism.

Pregnancy and birth

Pregnancy appear to be critical stages for brain development. The presence of bacterial or viral infections in the mother during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of autism, however this is a minor factor.

What doesn’t cause autism?

  • Vaccines

  • Bad Parenting 😂
